Who doesn't love Joe Biden. Even though he is a old time politican whose speciality was influence peddling, you gotta love a guy who is willing to say what he believes -- even if it it totally wrong or makes no sense. And what a contrast to his boss Obama who is so scripted, he doesn't say a word without a teleprompter in front of him.
So, on Thursday's Today show, Biden was asked by Matt Lauer if, because of the swine flue, he would discourage poeple from flying to Mexico. And Biden's response was that he had already told members of his family to avoid all airplane travel as well as anything else involving being in a confined space. Well, that was not the Obama administration's line on the swine flue. So the White House spinmeisters kept trying to twist and modify what Biden said. Even mental midget Janet Napolitanto got into the picture saying that "If he could say that over again, he would say if they're feeling sick, they should stay off of public transit or confined spaces." Not showing a lot of respect for the Vice President there...
But we'll never know if Biden was just carelessly revealing what the folks in the administration had told to him or was just going off on his own and making stuff up.
Well, Biden's "punishment" as it were, was to have to take the train from Washington to his home in Delaware just like the old days when he was just a lightweight influence-peddling Senator.
