John Travolta is listed as a member of the "Board of Advisors" of Narconon, a Scientology front group claiming to provide addiction treatment services through franchized operations using the Narconon name and methods.
The Narconon methods are taken directly from L. Ron Hubbard's defective Scientology tech. These include the physically dangerous "Purification Rundown" which includes injestion of vitamins at levels at which they are actually toxic poisons. Also included are other Scientology methods. Although Narconon has removed the name "Scientology" from the materials used, they are still the same and the overall Narconon franshise owner is another Scientology front group.
Also listed as a member of the "Board of Advisors" is Kirstie Alley. In fact, she is identified as the "International Spokesperson". It is hard to imagine anyone less qualified to be an "advisor" on methods of controlling addition than well known food-addict Alley. She could probably have saved herself hundreds of thousands of dollars by searching out "Overeaters Anonymous" meetings.
The letterhead extract was taken from a site which has posted legal papers assocated with a legal dispute involving one of Narconon's franchise operators, Narconon Stone Hawk Rehabilitation Center, Inc. Although Stone Hawk has been involved in a lot of ligigation originated by customers defrauded by the Scientology "treatment" methods, the dispute with Narconon centers over the most important aspect of the agreement with Scientology, namely payment of franchise fees.
Travolta's endorement and promotion of Scientology and its front organizations is causing harm to many who may naively believe in his endorsement.
Endorsements of defective Scientology and related front group services is no different from prior celebrity endorsements of clothing made under sweat shop conditions. In fact, Scientology depends upon child labor for its operations and requires even married female staff members to undergo abortions if they happen to get pregnant. Boycotts and threatened boycotts of celebrities endorsing sweatshop-produced products was quite effective. The same tactic should be used for celebrities who endorse and promote Scientology.
